We have a Claas scorpion 7044 telehandler. 4000 hours. Built by Kramer. Running fine. Got out of the cab to get a drink. Got back in and the boom and trailer hitch would not work. You can drive and steer the machine but the boom and trailer hitch are completely inoperative. The dealer cannot figure it out. He says he is unaware of this problem ever having occurred in one of theses machines! He tried replacing the hydraulics ECU but that made no difference. He thinks it may be a broken earth. We think either that or a canbus resistor.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't know the machine, but I'd be checking,
Fuses
Relays
Seat switch as above
Cab leccy connections, all joints including earth points
There's not something daft like an accumulator gone flat?I recall a manitou that wouldn't move the boom until you'd turned the steering a few times to pressurise the system 🤷‍♂️

So he has not read it for any fault codes in any modules that may give him direction and has blindly replaced the Hyd ECU??

I'd be finding another dealer myself!

Yes he read it for fault codes - a long list which did not seem to identify the issue. When he tested the ECU data was going in but not coming out so he replaced it but it made no difference.

I’d be checking for continuity to earth by backpinning the purple plug going into the module, an electrical schematic would be ideal to find which pins should be earthed. Rodent damage or chafing under the cab and pickup hitch had caused me issues before too. If you have power going into the module and nothing coming out the problem will be with the module itself.
