Done some osr. To many bloody buzzards where we have been the small birds don't stand a chance now the do gooders have protected all the predators! The sparrowhawks are scared off by the buzzards. Won't be long until the sparrow is a rare breed and we get the blame.Made a start today. Doing about 27cwt/ac so about normal.
Nearly ruined a rabbits day when I chased it out at the end and a buzzard landed on it. Unfortunately it got away.
Nice yield there!Cut our first bit of cassia today, guesstimate about 4t/ac. Not quite as good as Tower at around 4.5t/ac.
Not so much straw either. Local cattle man baled 14 ac of Tower straw and got 114 round bales!
Looking good...but doesn't it drive you crazy when the combine gets wet!? So annoying.Finishing off the second bit of Winter Linseed after rain, the eagle eyed will notice we didn't get control of the poppies in this bit, will be grass next year so will sort it out then. I may have messed about with the colours a bit....

I get more annoyed when the crop gets wet. Like it will today!Looking good...but doesn't it drive you crazy when the combine gets wet!? So annoying.
Really well till I picked a rock up with it after less than an hour! Got back on the go once we'd replaced 2 fingers and removed a very bent elevator slat. Vario type header so much better than the old one in osr. How's the new combine going @Wheatonrotty I heard you on the go last night.
Well done. Don't think I'll read anymore harvest threads, as we can only dream of those sort of yields.Cut our first bit of cassia today, guesstimate about 4t/ac. Not quite as good as Tower at around 4.5t/ac.
Not so much straw either. Local cattle man baled 14 ac of Tower straw and got 114 round bales!
I would have finished winter barley today if it wasn't for the inch of rain falling out of the sky since 8am. OSR is fit to move into straight afterwards.
I think the osr is going to do better than people think and don't go by looks we are in a field which we thought was to thin at the top but yield monitor doesnt vary from thick to thin bits. And we are pleasantly surprised with what we are finding
