Going to give the 2-3 leaf spring barley 2litres/ha manganese, is it worth putting 0.25litre/ha copper in or is it too soon?
If you suffer from it, I would put it in obviously the crop is only small at the moment, so reduce the rate down.
Make sure it is repeated again mind.
How low can I go?
Have you had copper deficiency before? I used to do it with the T1 in spring barley on chalk soils. It showed up low in most leaf tissue tests.
That very much depends on the product you are using mind. The label rate will tell you the maximum dose. What dose do you use normally? What is full rate? You can ring the technical helpline and ask them- that is what they are for.
You see I don't know your manganese product, the one I tended to use had a reasonable dose at 1L/ha. Obviously cost will be a factor as well.
I go twice on cereals, 0.25 both times normally in the autumn on well tillered crops and again at T0 or T1. For spring barley I usually chuck it in like your thinking of doing and again at T1.
Tissue analysis shows up low copper and zinc.
With an ibc of MN it's cheaper to buy Yara copper and zinc and add as required
