Covid 19.. Milk price impact?

I think NHS did issue such a statement, but as it doesn't fit the media agenda it's unlikely to be broadcast!

There is a 5 point list published by the NHS of how to improve your immunity. No3 is drinking milk and eating dairy products. It was published on March 31st 2017 and is due for revision on March 31st 2020. It has been widely shared by dairy farmers on Twitter.

With every other industry getting help due to corona based losses, what’s to stop us lodging a claim for extra money for milk, due to less demand, with all the cafes etc closed?

This subsidy however will result in a real problem filling new jobs. Just read on bbc supermarkets after 50000 new staff.
Crop pickers are going to be desperately needed.
These jobs would have been filled but now people will stay at home on 80% pay and watch netflix.
I'm not saying the idea is wrong but as farmers we all know subsidies can result in negative consequences

With the government helping to fund peoples pay packet to 80%, I cant help think that us tax payers will be covering the cost of this for a long time to come, I thought 50% would be very generous , considering a lot of self employed effected wont get a penny and as well as having a mortgage probably are carrying business debt as well.

Talk on radio that’s lots of pubs/cafes/restaurants will now close and not do takeaways or food deliveries which were a outlet for wholesalers because of the 80% paid wage policy which will in turn put more pressure and dependence on supermarkets
