CVT/IVT tractor transmission reliability.

I do very little tractor driving now , but interested to know if CVT/IVT tractor transmissions are very reliable after 5000hrs +, irrespective of make of tractor ,especially tractors doing most heavy draught work.

I think that all the current ivt’s are in general as reliable as anything on the market.

Depends whose been driving them. Servicing them. Changing oil, filters. Seperate oils to hydraulic system. Type of work I think would affect it too.

Should be no less reliable than anything. More so in my opinion. All depends how they've been driven and looked after

Don’t think it can be irrespective of make.. Surely some makes are more reliable than others! John Deere for example have a good reputation but they’re always in need of something, terribly unreliable transmissions!

I would say it definitely depends on the operator more than the make. However the amount of 8r series Deeres I no of that are on there second or third vario box is quite scary!
