Do I “need” a break crop (cereals)

So my cereal harvest seems a distant memory, barley at the end of June, wheat early July. It hasn’t rained since so no volunteers yet and no rain on the forecast for the next two weeks.
It’s just got me thinking... do I actually need a take all break with this three month break now anyway?

Not a fan of bolting on and removing the “beaks”.
And not a fan of trying to grow crops that need to grow through the summer if this no rain is the new norm.
I found it shocking driving to the claas dealer during my harvest watching maize, sunflowers, sorghum die during July :nailbiting:

You still have the roots of the harvested crop as a host even though they are as good as dead.

In the last couple of years I have re-introduced 2nd wheats after 20 years no-till, and this year we had 18.5Ha of 3rd wheats. I haven't seen any significant take-all in any of those crops.
We did used to suffer pretty badly with take-all in 2nd wheats when we ploughed and consequently we have only had 1st wheats for 25-30 odd years.
Have I just been lucky dodging take-all the last couple years? Or have the undisturbed wheat roots carried enough take-all over the years to give us take-all decline? Or is the soil just more hostile to take-all under no-till?

With latitude?
The 2nd wheats have been some with Latitude and some without with no noticeable difference in growth or yield.
The 3rd wheats all had Latitude, they were sown 7th Oct last year as they were the first fields that were fit to drill. I wouldn’t normally start my drilling campaign with 3rd wheats and finish on 1st!
