Has anyone found an alternative source of packer tyres for a Horsch pronto(7.50x16 8pr) I cant find any with a square profile and original are over £250each
Mitas do one but it is a very rounded tyre.

Put BKT on ours, when we got the drill it had Bkt on centre gang and original horsch on wings… no difference in how it put the seed in ground only thing I noticed was that the horsch tyres picked up worse in tacky conditions so + for the BKT. Think from memory they were 60 quid a piece. I can see the idea behind the square profile ‘horsch’ tyres but in practice on our land atleast ranging from heavy clay to potato land they make 0 difference.

Thanks, we have put a couple of Mitas on and when mixed with the Horsch look very out of place ,but I think if we switch the whole centre gang we wont notice especially as you say at £60

Replaced all of the car type tyres on a CO4 with BKT for a fraction of the cost of Horsch. The tyres were identical to the factory Horsch ag tread version, except for the BKT logo being replaced with Horsch.
Just double check the ply rating.

I had a case concord drill. Similar concept I believe. Tire were a constant pita, case ones were a couple hundred bucks ten years ago and square profile, changed over to car tires from a recycler fir 5$ each. Have a few that were problems but no more than the case ones. plus side being radials I could lower the pressure so they flexed over the seed row then dropped any wet soil off stopping it from building up.
