Drilling companion crops first?

Hi all
I’ve got one field of ww that’s ahead of the rest and I’m hoping to combine this week and bale straw off it.
I’m following it with osr and in the past I’ve just mixed berseem clover 50/50 in with the rape, however I’m wondering if as it’s early to lightly tickle the top next week and cast on clover and buckwheat (if moisture is there) and then come back and dd the osr into it in a few weeks when/if soil moisture levels are suitable. It’s a field with heavy clay at the top to medium soil at the bottom.
what are you guys experience’s with anything similar? My worries are grasses taking over and potentially the Cc getting too forward and robbing the osr of moisture..
Thanks
Chris

I was considering something similar. Rye cut and baled. Main concern is the companion robbing the moisture from the osr … no moisture to nick at the moment 🙄

What are the chances of buckwheat or clover contaminating the rape sample at harvest time?

Close to zero...the slightest frost removes all buckwheat and clover seed is so small it's easily separated in the combine, or harvest the osr and clover purposefully together and separate the seeds post harvest and reuse the clover seed the next year. Win/win

How do u seperate small seeds in the combine?
Last yr i saw a total disaster where pigeons grazed rape and clover took over, it was 6ft high and unharvestable.
Got baled for silage
