Does this mean anything with a carb will need super unleaded once this comes in?
With the cost and availability consequences of super unleaded in a the small local town petrol station.

Got a couple of old quad bikes that have carbs and chainsaws etc.

I tried looking into that and not much information I guessing for most usage must be so low it won’t affect it

That's what someone told me.
A lot of people are in for shock because they don't know much about it yet but a lot of old engines will just seize up if you put this new fuel in them

I think not as much but the information out there is week
Heard E5 is still going to be available but will go up in price. Not sure if u can put additive into E10 to make octane higher. Used addative in unleaded before to make octane higher so as not to burn valves in an old engine we had.

Is this just a back door way to get the older cars of the road ,,all the classics ,the reliable old workhorses ,,my old 3.4 landcruiser would have been well and truly knacked ,,it was 21 years old

There's a load of vids on YouTube from USA showing how to remove the ethanol by mixing water in the e10 fuel then draining it. Seems it's causing problems there anyway

I'd guess so like said can use premium but more money. Could be over thinking it as most say it will work but what a pita

If it's a more modern 2010ish and newer you'll mostly be OK but get ready to do lots more induction and fuel system cleanings as it does seem to carbon up a whole lot worse.

Best thing for carbs is to just run them dry - additives and nothing else seems to work long term - doesn't matter if their newer engines or not - run them dry then run them on choke for a bit when you first fire them up to suck the debris out of the ports as much as possible then you shouldn't have any problems much at all. Otherwise get ready to replace lots of carbs every single year. Not sure how any of this is more eco friendly?

Don't bother with the "ethanol free" fuel unless you test it yourself as it will usually still have ethanol in it and even be considerably lower octanes a lot of the time... At least that's how it is here in the US...

Anything over 10% will usually start having drivability issues and even get to where it won't start when you get up around 40ish% as it can take up to 3 times as much to produce the same energy as regular straight fuel.

From what little I’ve read it doesn’t sound like the best of stuff in more modern cars either, what with ad blue problems on newer diesels, it could be part of a ploy to get a more rapid acceptance of electric vehicles by making the ICE more problematic/expensive to run

why would fuel companies only sell you stuff to push you towards electric... That doesnt make sense!
