With the electric price the devil is in the detail of whats included and whats not ,especilly with business tarrifs its never as simple as price per KWH and standing charge , there are so many add on's to any bill these days data aggregation charges are one that some companies include and some leave off, and its sizable additional cost if its not included.
as a rule of thumb though its always worth trying get a cheaper price , i was just quoted by opus to renew , rang a comparison company for a better price than opus offered they said they could not better the opus price i'd been given on kwh , but there standing charge was a little better , went back to opus and got the standing charge and the kwh price a bit better , not much mind but enough to make the call worthwhile

Apparently they only have to read your meter once every two years. We got a shock because of this. They had been sending estimates based on six monthly and then annual readings; we had some changes that they did not pick up on, and this meant that when they did read the meter we had a bill for £12,000 more than we were expecting. This was electricity that we had used, and we should have checked our own meter, but when you are busy these are things that get forgotten.
You obviously don't take the AF advice to read your meters by 20th of month and submit online then!

Signed and sent back 12.67p kWh they offered, thought was a done deal to be phoned up yesterday to say they can't do it and it's now needs to be 14.p kWh and 55 p per day I asked what the hell going on. And responded with I'm not using as much eletric as they thought. I asked where they got my consumption figs from ( I'm on a smart meter ) they used there figures. ?? I m still confused now.

Can people clarify whether the price mention includes any other charges , renewables , fit levy or not , otherwise its too random to compare

£8 month ,then p/kw 10.084p day 5.009 night
or
£8/month 9.77 p/kw flat rate

both +1.8p renewable levy + .55p fit levy

12month contract through a buying group

Is it me or are all of these so called brokers looking out for one person and its not the customer! Please Sir tell me what your renewal price is and we will then tell you our best price! By the way we get between 50 and 350 quid from your new provider for transferring you so it won't cost you a penny to switch. I can guess how much your getting from the provider you want me to sign with.

Yes it amazes me how they can tell you how much you can save, but can't even quote you a price

Current with Scottish power on variable rate 24.55 daily charge, 11.34 day 7.81 night 8.71 eve/weekend
Forward contracts 12 month/3yr are higher prices would be interested to hear others opinions on these prices and prices going forward but for time being this seems best place to be until prices rise
All advice welcome tia
