On straight paper from.cosybed not sure if they do a mix or not. Works well not sticking to mats and also mot blowin away with a gush of wind like r sawdust did.
I'm completely new to this paper bedding malarkey what's it like?neighbour has had a sample off both envirobed and cozi-bed what's the difference?lately our sawdust has got so fine a breeze and it blows away

I think cozi bed was about £10-15 t cheaper delivered bulk at about £67 than envirobed. Trouble we would have is keeping 20 t tipped dry down here. 30 litre bags , which are not big are £4 in Wynnstay, I think it was 56 on a pallet @£205,

Agrisorb saw dust we just had was £110, £2.85 a bag, this lot mind is very lumpy a bit damp perhaps and hard to get out of the bag, tends to put you off another load.

We have stuff in big bags for £88-ton which is equivalent to £1-76 small bag or the Safebed which is a blend of lime and sawdust for £13 ton more

Safebed Hydramix is a unique blend of mixed lime and sawdust for use in cow cubicles, poultry and stock sheds. it provides a rapid rise in pH yet is gentle enough not to burn. It effectively controls E. coli and aids in the prevention of mastitis and digital dermatitis

I might have a look at all options to be honest only changing because sawdust is getting too much in the pricing department.iv heard mootress is cheap but iv heard its not dry so I don't really know what to think...

It doesn't matter how much a tonne the product is , its how much you have to use !
So use 500 kg a day @ 100/t
or use 250 kg a day @ 150/t?
I agree the thing is the sawdust is getting finer and I'm putting more on the beds because It blows away in the littleest of breezes..had few cases of mastitis with it n all

What are peoples opinions on cozy bed. I had a load, felt like it had grit in it with dry lumps of paper, bits of glass, wasn't the claimed 95% dry matter either, and seemed to chew through it very fast, as it wasn't staying on the mattresses[/QUOTE
well the friends down the road have taken some from them and they couldn't be happier with it.they take an awful lot during the year and getting on well with it.plus they are on the headland in Cornwall so the weather is pretty horrendous and they say it's stayed on beds unlike there sawdust they use to use..awful stuff that.im keen on going on it in the new year just using the last of my sawdust from this year..plus having 1500 milkers it should pay off when I won't need to use lime.so they say.

We didn't get on with it, company was brilliant, sent me samples down and tried a pallet of premium and straight environbed, used 7 bags a day instead of 5 of Ardens sawdust and found it very course on the waterbed mattresses we have. Vet commented straight away about early hock lesions/hair loss appearing so now back to ardens and the shed being a dust wind tunnel!

Had a 10 tonne load of cozi bed in sept, v dusty but dry, stayed on beds well but my concern was it felt a bit gritty and was worried about hock damage, back to sanderdust now
