Did you hear of Serbia, Croatia , Bosnia?
Was in Croatia a couple of days ago. Then crossed into Slovenia, now in Austria. Quite a difference between them. Couldn't get through some of the border crossings between Croatia and Slovenia as we are on Kiwi passports. Thorough check of all the trucks by the border guards.

I tend to agree with you, and the view of a United States of Europe is an idealistic one. Should countries and their citizens strive to reach that ideal or would it be simpler just to be more nationalistic, pull up the drawbridge and only consider oneself ?
It would great if the world was one big happy place but its just not human nature, we are a tribe species look at sports we love to hate the other local team but mostly get on with their fans on an idividual basis, being forced together into a us of europe isnt going to end well, if the eu went back to a purely trade group I and I believe many leave voters would sign up for that happily, the way things are moving to more free trade deals across the world maybe the eu will have a sell by date anyway, less government and thus less cost is something I think most can agree on, except of course those on the gravy train from all sides of the political spectrum

I was looking at a report from EU finance, for 2015 year.

The net figure for the UK was €21,409,300,000. Or in £ 367,604,739 per week. Current exchange rate.
This takes into account uK rebate vat payments etc.

So why are the news papers not publishing this information easy the find on Mr Google.

What really annoys me is that where still paying a similar amount but are barred from the EU table. If it was me if I am not invited to the table then the money stays in my pocket. Be interesting on Friday to see if May gets excluded from meetings again.

Some people know the cost of everything, but the value of nothing.
Same folks have a tendency to pass the buck a lot.
When things turn out good, they take the credit but when stuff isn't quite working to plan, then it's other folks fault.
Give these guys a couple of beers and the volume goes up a lot, and the nature of the debate goes south quite rapidly.

Yeah, give me a bloke who know value when he sees it, and considers the cost to be a mere input necessary for a satisfactory outcome.
They do tend to make the local tavern a much more satisfying place to visit and relax on a Saturday night.

But thats the point it isnt value for money for the uk, the eu claims it is signing free trade deals with other countries that is FREE trade, not a pay us a big fat fee and then you can have "free" trade, if they are happy to have trade deals with other countries then they can be happy to have one with us, unless of course those that want a US of E are scared others will want out
