📣 It is planting time of the year for our local farmers!

However, bird scarers safeguard our farmer’s crops but overuse can be a disturbance to our residents

🏡 If you're continuously disturbed by nuisance bird scarers in your area, please report to your local council

There’s a “South Holland” in South Lincolnshire but no “North Holland” in North Lincolnshire or anywhere else. There’s New Holland in North Lincolnshire. Funny old county.
Nobody takes any notice of the council so don’t worry about them.
We used to get the ferry (The Lincoln Castle) from New Holland to Hull before the bridge was built.

The only thing North Holland in Lincolnshire is North Holland YFC just north of Boston, is the only time I have known the term North Holland used and still to this day.

Anyway, as far as bangers are concerned I try to be respectful and considerate but have to use them sometimes. I’ve tried hawk kites which I’d say are more effective over a small area and obviously quiet but I’ve yet to find one that will withstand the winds we get here. Usually the fibreglass stake eventually snaps off at ground level. Rooks soon ignore bangers as they are intelligent birds but they keep well away from kites.
