Dealer telLas me my options are green star or Trimble, both semi integrate, can engage with headland management etc.

what are the other cheaper options? Novatel, Topcon? Anybody have any experience

Pretty Sure Agleader and Topcon can also do the same

I went with Greenstar in the end very good integration

I have customers out running pretty much any flavour of GPS on Fastracs, my personal preference is to sell with Trimble as that is what I can support properly with help from my local Trimble sub-dealer. But they all seem to work equally well really, its mainly down to personal preference. With the JD system you will need a bridge module (either AGRA GPS or Solsteer) so that is another cost.
Personally I don't think you can go wrong with a GFX750-NAV900 Trimble kit, it will do everything 99% of people want it to do and is good to use.
