How many are getting knocked on price because of breed ,in material of grade. So it’s seems MLC grading means nothing ,it’s the breed now.

Surely it's about supplying what the market wants. If your buyer doesn't specify a breed or offer a breed premium then it's just the grid that should set price.

The EUROP grid had never been fit for the purpose of supplying great meat, only for the efficiency of the processors and supermarkets. The Antipodean system is way ahead, for customer satisfaction, based on eating quality.

Its a farce that's been going on for a while, A British friesian steer graded O+4l and a lim X O+4l can be upto 25ppkg difference.
I repeatedly complain about it but keep getting told its because they have sold the beef x animals to supermarkets without any dairy x animals in the consignment. Complete rubbish.

Yes it’s totally wrong,a grade is a grade if it’s MLC .So what they are saying is the meat is not good enough.Well Mr sodding supermarket explain that to the public when you say no b/w bulls calves can be killed.I would like all butchers/ supermarkets to trace back and confirm not one bit of meat sold at premium is from these cattle that have been discounted by breed not grade or quality but by the colour of their hind.

We are being asked, under the Livestock Traceability Group plans, to shift ALL of our management information onto a government database that is to be shared with these same processors and retailers for no extra payment to us. We are not even getting access to THEIR key data in exchange.

And our "representative organisations" are supporting the change!

I think I'm right to say that M+S are accepting black and whites now, if they tick their other boxes.
