Fendt RTK and inaccurate waylines

Hi,

Been experimenting with varioguide on RTK (rookie with autosteer here), and just doing simple A-B lines with a 3 meter Carrier. Staying on the lines seems to work as expected, but as i work through the field. When doing the last 3 meter wayline i would expect this to "fit" perfectly with the 3 m working width of the implement, but it seems to be about 20 cm offset to the left. So instead of a completely worked field, there was a 20 cm strip of stub on the field.

When i turned on the headland, i had the previous strip/wayline on the tractors left throughout the field, so it was only when the last strips were worked the Carrier had to fit on both sides - is there any adjustments im doing wrong here? The offset from the boundary is set to 1,5 meters. I dont feel like i can trust this right now to drill with :O

The RTK info is reporting +/- 1 cm accuracy, so all Varioguide details looks good.

Sounds like it’s machine setup. Look where you have setup the carrier in autoguide. Is the width set as 3m and is the centre to outside distance 1.5m. You could have an offset set. This all assumes the carrier is 3m wide

This was due to a machine-setup problem as @Boysground pointed out, the machine wasnt quite level to the ground. It pulled to the left because of it. Even when that was good, it had a slight offset that i adjusted with the offset-setting on the terminal.

Measure your machine width. My 6mtr drill is 6125mm wide ! Makes quite a difference across field. Also make sure your steering is calibrated straight.

To whom is this advice intended for? Are you proposing this to shakalakka who just reported his issues being fixed. Why fix it if it isn't broken any more?

Interesting drill anyway. How wide is your sprayer, how do you match it if you seed with 6125 mm width.

OK and fair enough but do you know if the farmer that the advice was targeted does tramline? What is the advice in that case?
Don’t tramline, put them in with the sprayer, or use existing/permanent lines. I was only suggesting he check his centreing , as I had experienced similar, the cause was the wayline did not run through the centre of the tractor due to the front wheels were not aligned properly,a simple recalibration corrected it. Its all in the varioguide manual.
