Remember urea does take a little more time to get going because it has to convert twice.
That doesn't take long at this time of year. I doubt you would see the difference in the plants in a side by side trial with AN.

So now some showers have appeared on the radar for sat.
Do I
A) put the fert in which is guaranteed to kill off any showers
B) not put the fert on which will guarantee a shower
I’m a farmer not a meteorologist! When do YOU think it will rain? All my N on apart from the last 100 kg N dose on the winter wheat. All pre ems on too. A bit of rain would wake them up, hopefully.
Hopefully this time tomorrow I shall be able to say the same thing.....albeit I doubt I'll manage to get the AnS on in time but that will follow before long.
i will close off one discDo half.

AN only needs a dew to go into solution. Apply urea this weather probably loose 25-50% of the NI mean I could stretch out what little AN I have, meaning everything will have something next to it. But will that AN just sit still until rain? In which case I could race round with the original Urea plan before any rain events

Haha, I certainly wouldn't class myself as organised! You're keen!! And super organised too.
Are you not worried about it going in to the straw and not the grain?
I was thinking about this comment often made by people - it struck me that too much fertiliser in the vegetation is certainly better than too little in many respects. We keep being told 30% of yield comes from leaf 1/2. Unless we encourage the plant to produce a large plant with sufficiently large leaves, then the amount of sunlight captured could be limited, thus limiting yield.
