Will flat rolling after drilling have any effect on csfb once the crop emerges.
Just wondered if the change in environment would change their behaviour. My agronomist has recommended 2 passes with ring rolls to close it up more. Thanks.

can’t see what it does to CSFB

Will aid establishment in a dry time though

CSFB. is just pot luck / area now - nothing you can really do about it other than limit your risk, do not spent on OSR until sure you have a crop

Reducing the surface area of the soil gives them less places to hide when you’re out with a sprayer selecting the resistant ones with an insecticide, that’s all. Double rolling mine made me feel better but didn’t really make much difference. They are flying in swarms as the crop emerges, so you’re giving them an easier landing :D

Rolling post emergence risks snapping the stems and killing the plant. You might give a couple of flea beetles a headache too.

Wishful thinking? May get it established in autumn. No guarantee larva will not take it out in March. Hey ho.

No, nor will Garlic sprays, citrus sprays or pyrethroids. In fact I have found shouting at CSFB to be just as effective as any of the above.
