Flu jab?

Main groups are over 65s and children (who are snotty and good at spreading bugs). As above several chronic conditions where the flu might really hurt you or if your immunity is down. If you work for NHS or are a carer for a relative you qualify on NHS but not aware of any other occupations though the employer may pay to try to limit abscences.
It cannot give you flu but I had increasing reactions which felt like it. Stopped in 2016 after it took 2 weeks over Christmas to recover

I was told by a consultant that if you have symptoms after a flu jab then you would have been very susceptible to the type of flu in the jab so a good job you had it.

Don’t know if it’s true though.

If you have snotty kids that visit a regular breeding ground for the flu than a jab from Boots for £12 is probably a wise investment. I would not want to endure a winter without one, I've just had the latest bug and it settled on my chest which is always a sod.

I never bothered but since reading that the Spanish flu epidemic killed more people than two world wars, I've taken it up. I know the flu virus is continually mutating, but I'd rather not be on my death bed wondering if it might have helped. Apparently, we are due for another epidemic of the lethal variety as it occurs in cycles.

My local surgery holds a fluathon every year, they txt all relevant patience & get as many done in a day, I missed my one but have now got a txt to say come to the surgery & we will fit you in, so will be going tomorrow morning...... had my first one last year & never caught the flu all winter so it is worth doing.

I have the jab every year (By the way Superdrug is about the cheapest at the moment, about £8 for the quadrivalent jab) I only ever missed it one year and guess what happened!

So does mine.
Quite friendly with one of the GP’s in the practice and he himself never gets the flu jab and neither does his kids aged 12 & 10.

Case of do as I say, not as i do.
