Food Security begins with Farm Security

So what we are essentially admitting is that we no longer have sufficient back up from the police, judiciary and ultimately government to keep our businesses safe. In fact some of the “activists” we face are encouraged by the judiciary and government. So we are going down road of employing private militia.
The message to me is quite clear. “We as a government couldn’t give one about the security of farming businesses”. So actually I couldn’t give one about their food security and won’t be busting a gut over that.
Help me and I’ll help you. Show is disdain and we’ll show you disdain. Since having my sheds cleared of all useful tools on several occasions I no longer bother replacing them. The job doesn’t pay for that or the private security firms now supposedly needed. As a result my productive efficiency suffers but hey ho that’s modern couldn’t care less Britain. I’m getting used it. I’m alright Jack. I just invest my capital in countries that do take commercial busyness activity seriously.
I must admit that I was surprised to see a private security firm patrolling a large farm near to where I live. But I suppose, given the value of their equipment etc. (They grow for Weetabix) they probably felt that it was an investment worth making.

Simple things like diverting footpaths round farmyards rather than having them go through the middle would help immensely with security but while I'm opposed in doing this at every turn by the government and by pressure groups then frankly I couldn't care less. I no longer buy or store equipment worth stealing. Police can't be bothered. Why should I? Let them eat wood chip.
I am sure you mean well with your advertisment and no doubt its worthwhile for larger firms to employ your services but for small family farms the costs of security are out of the question. Our profits just don't run to that kind of expense. Everybody thinks that small businesses have some kind of hitherto untapped financial reserves to draw on for these constant extra costs. We have no such reserves,

You refer to 'your advertisement' and 'your services' - AIMS, are the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers, we represent abattoirs and cutting plants!

The film (call it an advert if you wish) comes from a business called Camor who are supplier members of AIMS.
So, please take on board, AIMS are not selling you, the farming industry, anything. Our 'sales' so to speak are elsewhere in the supply chain with the cost (our membership fee) being picked up at that point in the supply chain.

So CAMOR "a group of ex military and police officers."
No doubt on massive taxpayer funded pensions after taking a generous index linked early retirement package. Now they are topping that up with a bit of private security work because they failed so abysmally to keep a lid on crime during their time in "public service".
Sorry, boils my pee. Really does. They say crime doesn't pay. Well it doesn't pay the victim but pays every other fecker involved from the judge down.

'a bit of private security work'?
Do you do a bit of farming?
Come, on, I understand your frustration having been the victim of crime, but do try to keep some perspective on what you are saying.
I fully understand the pressures that farmers face, I'm the son of a farmer (sheep) and the brother of a farmer (dairy).
My family too have been the victims of crime but it is a bit much to tarnish the reputations of our military and ex military who let's face it, have risked their lives for this country.

Sorry, it does touch a raw nerve with me.
I'm sure there are some trying their best, and I respect and appreciate that you are funding out of your own members pockets the security of your premises and businesses on which we producers also depend for our livelihoods. I'm grateful to you for that.
I'm just extremely frustrated at what appears to me to be a total lack of back up from government, police and judiciary on rural crime.
I'd say the agenda from 10 Downing Street is anti meat and they themselves fuel the kind of criminal activity that occurs.
And I'm saddened that you have to pay for and take these measures yourself as you have been badly let down by public services in my opinion.
That's all.

You active canvassing on behalf of a private firm is causing a bit on confusion.

Obviously AIMS is not averse to a bit of payola.
