a BMW E46 is a much better place for old F1 engines .......

(turn up volume before watching)

I think you'll find it all came to an abrupt end rather tragically, shame, there was some very graphic footage doing the rounds. But agreed a lovely sound, prefer a V12 Matra personally!

I just watched that crash footage, I can’t really work out what went so wrong, it seemed to come from nowhere. Was there any evidence of a mechanical fault?

I'd never watched hillclimbs before, but it looks much more dangerous/exciting than F1. Going through roads at those speeds with trees, stone walls, steep gulleys at the side must be terrifying.

You'd like the Isle of Man TT then!!! It is insane and normally a fantastic place to be for a week if the weather behaves!!

If I win euro millions I will have that fitted to my defender !
It would certainly wake the neighbours up !!!
Not the ideal engine for a Defender, your mechanic would need about an hours notice to warm the engine (literally) before you try and start it!! Tick over is about 3500-4000 rpm so steady with the carbon clutch on any hills ........and i guess 17,000 rpm flat out could be a bit noisy especially in a defender. The good news is the heater would work after about 4 seconds on tick over.
Im not sure on gallons per mile but i guess the lottery win should cover that...

Does anyone know what (farmer) Andy Burton is doing these days, since the MSA banned his *awesome* Peugeot 2.5L V6 DTM Cosworth?
?

his alfaferrai was quite a thing as well - I was competing in BTRDA in a pug 106 when he was taking overall wins

Shame they killed off such cars

The golden days of motorsport, before it was neutered by risk assessments and insurance premiums.

Have you renewed your license yet?
I find it a bit disconcerting that Dave Richards main aim when he took over the MSA was to make motorsport more affordable and accessible. And so what did they do instead? - they build a brand new ivory tower head office for themselves, re-brand the organisation, and then raise the license fee and competitor charges by 50%

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
