Often double manned with Ukranians living in them. They'll have a pair of huge fuel tanks either side for cheap juice. They'll ignore the cabotage rules and they'll run a load back over the water often for the cost to get them where they need to be.

Local warehouse for cork tiles. Supplied by twice weekly deliveries from Lisbon. Two trucks parked up side by side. One had a range size bbq pulled out from chassis. Other a 'bar' with wine chiller. The distinctive smell of grilled sardines and four 'happy' truckers pervading the air. Magic!

London Gateway services used to be full of Willi Betz waiting to go into Bosch or waiting for another load after tipping at Bosch. There would be 20-30 off them in there parked. And they'd have some serious pots and pans bubbling away and tables and chairs laid out in one of the trailers.

Ashford Truckstop would be the same... Used to see some sights in there.

We get quite a lot of 'Croome' drawbars visiting the old David Brown factory, no idea what they shift but there could be three or four a day at times, from Lithuania I believe, although they do sport a co.uk website.

Anyone know how some of these are licenced, the truck and the trailer have different registrations numbers, so maybe they pay on each seperate, but it must a nightmare for the police/vosa if they only get the trailer reg and not the truck pulling it.

Into or out of the country

There is a firm which has something to do with carpets up there.

Bit of both I think. I know they used to take textiles out and bring the finished articles back.. They used to do a lot of Russian Runs... I dont see them as much as I used to on the roads.

The favourite among the dodgy truckers is Bulgarian registration, buy once and UK police have no idea of its legality. as the Bulgarians have no central database. So they are immune to all the cameras. They also can safely ignore the requirement for a tax disc , insurance if you are lucky. Get stopped plead no English it is not worth the bother of keeping them, so wave them through.
It worked for that Irish boy for a couple of years

They seize and crush trucks now. They caught one Bulgarian bloke who had driven for like 30 hours straight- on drugs.

Lol, of course they don't have the same costs and rules, they do the job cheaper, that's why they're there.
Have you only just noticed? I last lived in the UK in 2000 and they'd about taken over then, although every time I visit there seems to be more of them.
