Blimey how many tests a day are they doing now. If asymptomatic cases are 60% plus it will all be done by xmas at this rate

I think it's something like 450 to 500,000 a day. But there is no self testing in France it's all done by trained personnel. You can get a test at your local pharmacy if you want.

As an aside...
Slovakia (yea there is only 5 mill of them) being as it wasn’t going well with the second wave tested the whole country.
When the uk decided on the pilot for Liverpool, they went over to Slovakia to observe how to go about it. Made mrs Cz’s best friend quite proud I think

Went to the Drs Thursday , asked if he had many with it and he said 5 in the practise. ( Mezieres)

As far as I know it's not all pharmacies, only ones with a suitable isolated area and trained personnel.

There's a gazebo in the Drs carpark. You don't go inside. They get all dressed up . I wasn't there for that though.
You can't use the surgery waiting room at all. Rendezvous only and the Dr waves you in when the previous patient is in their car and he's wiped down with disinfectant.

I must admit, without giving it any thought, going to the pharmacy thinking you might have Covid for a test had struck me as a bit bizarre

You're supposed to phone if you think you've symptoms. They'll tell you which testing station to go to.
