I'm looking at new front mounted flail toppers to be used mainly for CSS grass strips, legume mixes and game cover crops. Only roughly 14 Ha's so relatively low use.
I'm looking at both a Perfect 2.8 and McConnel Magnum 2.8 mainly because they are in stock in local dealers.
Any opinions on either.

What model of McConnell?
I’d be going perfect of those two

We have a 2.8 perfect here we put some rubbers on the back so it blows the mulch back onto the ground rather than into the tractor grill when mounted on the front. Other than that it's handled whatever has been thrown at it without any issues

We have a Teage/Berti one, which is fine and used for similar purpoises. I would have a Major Cyclone next time, as I hate running on the full width roller, which I feel squashes every bit of wildlife in its path. Set high a bit higher with the Cyclone, it at least gives what ever is in the bottom of the grass some chance. Perhaps I am just too soft.
