I am looking for a topper to cut light grass on a dog walking field. Needs to go behind a JD Gator, must be electric start, ideally 2 m minimum cutting width. Does anyone have a suggestion or experience?

Chapman Machinery @chapmanmachinery ? Always worth asking companies if they can make something to your spec?
the last few implements and infrastructure I’ve ordered have all had something I’ve wanted on them to make them more efficient or longer lasting etc

Plenty of machines out there that will do the job. Logic and Wessex would be market leaders. However I think you’ll struggle to get 2m purely down to the hp required. Most engines are about 12-15hp and wouldn’t manage 2m

I have a Wessex topper that I tow behind my 4x4. It is brilliant, does a great job and is v reliable even though it is 17 years old! It is only 1.4m though.

Wessex are a real premium quality brand.
Are they ???
Paint on my finishing mower is peeling of at 4 years old it's used for 4 hours a week. Not abused stored under cover ,
Never happened on old McConnell. Decals can't cope with pressure washer either.

I’m surprised. Paint is usually the best bit about them.
I’ve had loads of the big commercial machines and paint always been good at 10 years old
