Getting Add Blue on farms

I think using farmers fuel got more popular round Cheshire in the early 90's when umbilical spreading took off. The first guys to do it were that busy and travelled so far the gear never made it back to the yard so it was easier than having a bowser or pricking about with drums. Thought it was a bad idea then and still do now.

I think it's probably easier to factor in the price of adblue to your rates and supply your own, but use customers diesel.
To be fair if I'd have been customer I'd have like to have been asked first. This adblue business is still new to a lot.

My dad 1st used contractors in the late 70s,we always supplied the fuel,it's always been the same in Lancs must be a northern thing,I've heard tales of straw filled diesel tanks with garden hose filler pipes:banghead:

Never had anyone ask for add blue yet,it wouldn't bother me,my main concern with contractors is turning up full.

Man you used to work is worse for this. Turned up next door to do first cut and all his tractors had just driven back from Shropshire

How much add blue did you use?was it just one tractor or a few and the chopper
Was 3 tractors and we only used 20 liters in total of the farmers add blue, have never had a problem with getting fuel or billing farmers for used on jobs in the past 35 + years and have never had a problem with add blue until now,if a farmer has it we get if not it was. Charged for

When he next comes to me I'll check the tanks :)

I used to write down what everyone used, don't bother now but telling them you know how much diesel they should be using stops them taking the pee.

Dad writes it down, mainly for his own interest I think and for last 4 years we've used exactly the same amount of diesel to do 1st cut within 50 litre. We've had 4 different choppers, 3 different loading shovels, all 416's but ages different, and various different models and ages of tractors
