Have gave the lambs mineral dose with added copper few weeks ago and as yet haven’t noticed any difference in them. Weaned on Friday past so will weigh again to see if any change

Look grand lambs. I have almost identical sample results so interested in how you're sheep respond to the mineral drench. Are you bothered with mucky backsides but the worm counts being clear?

ime severe copper deficiency (from a molybdenum lock up) led to a light brown scour. Iodine deficiency seems to cause a dark ‘wormy looking’ scour, so much so that I originally doubted my worm counting and drenched them anyway (it made no difference...).

When you handle them, have they improved in condition since you drenched them?

As has been posted above, they look a tidy bunch of lambs[emoji106]. Grass looks good too, as much as anyone can tell from a photo.

Not really improved at all I’m afraid. Starting to run out of options now. I’m pleased with shapes but for the breeding and ram breeds and the grass Theyv had I’d hope I’d have more of a bigger weight. I’d say rough counting they’d be least 40 of them 15 to 18 weeks old

Have you bolused along with the top up mineral drench? Lambs look decent to me what weights are some of those ram lambs?

Didn’t bolus as couldn’t get small enough box of bolus just for 60 or so lambs and wasn’t sure if help or not so just dosed them. Weighed last week and there is 2 that are 40kgs or just over and rest around 35 kgs. Main concern is I had the best ewe lambs born at start notched at lambing to keep and when weighing all the last day there is 2 that are 40 kgs out of maybe 20. They’d all be pushing 18 weeks now as didn’t notch any of the later ones

I wouldn't be worrying unless they've been creep fed. If they are twins that's an acceptable growth rate really. They can't all be gone in 12 weeks or we'd have a hell of a glut!

breeding for ewe lambs anyway must be correct as this ram lamb belongs to my smallest shearling. That’s her before clipping on Saturday
