That's the River Eau flooding Kirton Ings.

Mind you, the clue is probably in the name. Ings is a centuries old name for marsh so I guess it's being going on for a long while - way before somebody invented 'global warming'.

Are you heavy clay?
Yes and mostly flat so it doesn't run off very well, it's good fertile land and grows grass extremely well, it can do 4 tonne plus without huge inputs but the weather needs to be kind, it needs drilling early but this has lead to a big BG problem last year and I'm not prepared to spend ever increasing amounts and still have an issue with it.

Looks like, instead of keep paying the council, more council tax for what? we will have to do more "ourselves", what a very sorry state of affairs, all ready the parish council pays a "private" security company to patrol locally? Theres to ways to look at this on the one hand, you could say, that the increasingly wealthy newcommers to my village can afford to pay? on the other hand why? i pay council tax twice, once on the farm/ house, second on the business down the road from that, what do we get for that? No policing, the police are a vanished species local to me, ( 50 years ago, when the local population was a third of what it is now, and growing), we had not only a village bobby, in a police house in the village, but in the local town, (wickford) a nice new manned, modern police station? No rubbish collected, thats commercial, no pot holes filled, etc etc etc, with a growing council tax bill to boot?
