Highland show member tickets

Does the membership get you in to the show for all the days or is the ticket price on top? Sounds more complicated than it needs to be
Membership gives you free access on all 4 days. However you now have to book your tickets so that the Show/Society/Whoever knows how many people to expect, each day, on the showfield. Membership is worthwhile if you are attending for more than a couple of days or over a period of years.

Yes it is complicated - but it will evolve. Whether that is good or bad we shall see?

Sounds fine once you get your head round it. Royal Welsh is my nearest show, membership is £110 ,ticket for all four days but free parking. Dad took out a life governorship for me when I got married, gets you and your partner in for life and your kids until they're 18. Keep meaning to go to the highland but haven't got round to it. Maybe next year

All the shows are slightly different. RHASS allows children in free up to the age of 15 or 16.

There are a (dwindling) number of members that took out £12 life memberships.

Parking charges were initially introduced to ensure that the Society got some money back from these older members but the parking space is limited so the charges have stuck.

My uncle took a life membership in 1963 when the site was made permanent. I think it was twice the price of a one year 🫣.My Life governor was £1000 but spread over seven years so all free for the last 14 years and hopefully a lot more. RWAS is very restricted for any expansion so the parking is free bus shuttles from a couple of miles away

I'm sure they've done the sums on numbers allowed to attend and ticket prices.

They can't think there going to lose out @ 50,000 per day at £37.50 a ticket.

How's it going to backfire on them?
Limited numbers, limit opportunity for stand holders
Stand holders pay a fortune and are the main attraction of the show for many.

If they are not rewarded they will not come back and will result in RHS decline

RHS is still a very livestock orientated show and they ignore these exhibitors at their peril. I think they should be encouraged at every opportunity even to the point of giving inducements to show if necessary. The cost for these exhibitors is fast becoming prohibitive.

Bit of a long shot, but I’m looking for 3 childrens tickets for Friday, I’ve got an adults ticket but I couldn’t add the 3 childrens tickets as they were sold out 🤦‍♂️
If anyone could help it would be much appreciated, thanks.

Try checking the RHS website.
There was a general email put out tonight - to members or ticket holders? - saying that there would be help at the gates for those needing additional child tickets.

Thanks, can’t see anything on the website, hopefully we’ll get something sorted.

Don’t know why RHS is going down the ticket route!

Well decided to have a run up today as sister was driving up anyway, must be 5/6yrs since I was last there, seemed busy enough but bloody hot, had a good wander around and met a few that I knew, didn’t see many bare spaces where stands would’ve been, people must still have money to spend as there were plenty shopping bags and boot boxes being carried out

The Bavarian Bar isn’t the Bavarian Bar any more. Some genius at RHAS has decided that they should sign an exclusivity deal with Tenants / Innes & Gunn for all alcohol sold at the show.
… But they didn’t think to tell the bars until ten days ago. Somewhere in the country there’s literally a truck load of Erdinger beer looking for a home 🤦‍♂️
(Bratwursts stall now over at the American Bar / Herdsmen’s).
