Sheep and ponies graze many important conservation and ancient chalk downland areas in the city. Grazing improves the open space for wildlife and people.

All available ancient road verges and waste ground grazed around here by ponies too (Cardiff/Newport) not sure about the conservation aspect though.

There is a small flock that live around a council estate on the outskirts of Gloucester, even have their own road signs, seem to be quite accepted, but I think the sheep or right to graze was there before all the houses.

My, what a clever bunch they are. They've gone full circle and realised that animals eat grass

No doubt someone at council will get an award for this revelation. There might even be a ceremony.

Be far more fun if they used yearling bulls instead.

Just you wait, a year or two down the line they’ll figure out you can eat the animals that eat the grass 🤯🤯🤯
