How are those beavers getting on?

An interesting comment on YouTube:

"The best way to control beavers is to dig a channel through the dam. Then place a perforated metal culvert in the channel extending maybe 20 feet in front and behind the dam. The beavers cannot hear the running water and will not try to plug up the culvert !! Try it, it works great !!"

So just place a pipe in the dam and the beavers are stuffed.

you have to admit, they certainly work hard, but that video will also upset a lot of people ! There are specialist people in the USA, blowing up beaver dams. The big problem is they have no predators, and the climate is just right, so populations will explode, and we will not be able to touch them, 'cos they are all nice and cuddly' !

Not true.
Scottish Natural Heritage have issued permits to kill animals and destroy dams.

IIRC Packham’s Wild Justice are also getting involved

If Packham has his property near a stream a Beaver can dam ... People ought to move the beavers to where he lives not shoot them.

That goes for anyone else that thinks they are great ..
