Hello!, I am 15 and live in essex and i am looking to find some part time farm work. I have no experience but do have some knowledge about agriculture. My problem is that i don't know where to find any part time work. I'd be happy for it to be part time work, volunteering or work experience. Hope that you have got some ideas on where and how i can help out on a farm

Times have changed since I was 15 but , I was desperate to want a farming job , at 14 after my paper round I cycled all around the farms , knocking on doors and asking if they had any jobs
Plenty of set backs but I was determined and finally got some weekends work
Best of luck to you

Where in Essex are you?
Difficult at 15 due to H & S as well as travelling to find work.

As others have said on here it’s not going to be easy to find work, volunteering is probably your best bet. It might be worth joining a local young farmers group to get to know people your own age that might lead to opportunities.
47 years ago I was in your position, I wanted to work on a farm, my Dad made Radar and ship navigation systems. A friend of mine at schools Dad was a farm manager and he let me go and help feed the cattle at weekends. It wasn’t too long before I was doing it all on my own some weekends, I was 13 at the time. Once I could drive a tractor I approached a farmer next to my house about working for him and he taught me a lot about farming including how to plough. I still work on that farm, I do all the hedge cutting, planting and harvesting with my equipment. I often stand next to the tractors, combine and other farm equipment I now own and think that if you’d have told the 13 year old me that I would be in this position one day I’d never have believed it possible. Never underestimate how difficult it will be, but perseverance and hard work will hopefully eventually pay off. My old school motto was :- All those that persevere will succeed. It’s the most useful thing I ever learnt. Good Luck with your endeavours.

Joining your local young farmers club would be a great idea
You’ll mix with the local farm children which might lead to openings, if nothing else it will be fun

could you indicate which area you are based in ? Local farmers may contact you if they know where you are ?

@F1nnyP Joining your local YFC Club would be a great start, you will learn and enjoy a fabulous social life. Eventually it could get you all over the country and all over the world!! If you have a agriculture college nearby ask them about how to find experience.
Many, Many years ago!! We had an exchange weekend with Chelmsford YFC. A cracking weekend.

Joining the Young farmers is ok ....if you are a young farmer or got connections.
Gave the same advice about 12mths ago to a young lad but he tried three different YFC groups and found it really daunting , he couldn't engage in much conversation as all they talked about was big tractors etc etc , he couldn't afford to turn up in the same expensive clothing that most had and felt right out of place and couldn't afford to keep up with the social life that they seemed to be able to have ( attend all the shows and events ) ...........so he gave up 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

That is so sad but certainly does apply to some of the groups, also many do not cater for the younger members, which makes matters far harder. it is a pity because it is certainly a great opening into the local farming.
Perhaps if the OP would make his location a bit more apparent some here may be able to help more.
