How many trees have you planted this winter?

It strikes me that I have made a bit more of an effort myself. How about you?

First thinning of deadwood here. Annoys me when woodland planted but not managed. Woodland Trust are one of the worst offenders with there idea of management is to do nothing and then complain when its burnt to the ground. Have 30 Norway Spruce to transplant before the end of March grown from our own seed last year.

Thought it was a NT "initiative" to plant native flowering trees such as hawthorn & Crab Apple in urban areas to "remind people of nature" and to mirror the Japanese cherry blossom spring worship?

2 apple, 2 cherry, half a dozen alders and another 5 or 6 Hazel trees. All planted in cages aroud the place as we dropped 5 Ash trees with the Ash die back

About 2500 last winter, hopefully that gives me a bit of credit. 2 small woodlands and 300m hedge. It was my offset for taking the family to the states last year, but ended up not going, so like to think i am carbon negative at the moment!

That’s just their plans for some towns and cities. They’re aiming to plant 20 million in the next 10 years overall.
