A good man on a haybob is better than a bad one on a tedder. Tedders chaff the grass up and leave it flat like lawn clippings . A haybob being used correctly is a lovely sight. Plenty of clowns breaking headstocks and losing multiple tines while bobbing the back swathe clockwise etc that never learnt to use them correctly

A craftsman tedds in the opposite direction to the mower and has the tedder/haybob angle and speed set to do the perfect job imo, the drier it gets the faster you can go with less aggresive angle

I think there's a thread on here , by me , bought a haybob in a rush after an accident with my lely , couldn't work it out but got the job done .... then sold it .
