How to mix cover crop seed?

So I have 500kg rye, 500kg oats, and 50 odd kilos of small seed (clover, brassicas) to sow after maize.

Easiest way to mix it together?

At the moment looking like 3 gallon buckets layered in the hopper...

Thanks

Have you got a concrete mixer?

failing that a clean concrete floor and a loader (and a brush and shovel!)?
Open a 500kg bag with it on the loader and drive along so it leaves a thick line on the floor, then go over the top of it with the other bag. Then sprinkle the small seeds over the top. Then either put straight in the hopper or re-bag.

Put the rye and oats on a separate pallet fork tine over the drill and empty each bag at the same time and they’ll self mix. I’d apply the small seeds after with a slug pelleter.

If you have a clean shed wall tip all the seed out against it and mix it with the loader bucket
Its quite easy then to load the drill direct from the loader bucket

Just mix the first 100kg or so up in a bucket in the right proportions then, if you’ve got enough hopper space, put the remaining seed in one bag at a time. If you think how a seed hopper draws the seed down through the middle first you’ll understand how it’ll mix itself. I’ve done it like this for years and it’s always come up uniformly.
