HRN closing depots

They left Muir of Ord a while back. I'm sure Kubota tractors are great but . . . orange 🤔
It's become a Ross Agri now, nice wee shop. Same great guys.

Previously it was the JD depot after Neil Ross in Dingwall closed and became McLaren. Think they're still Zetor?

Just thinking there seems go be a fair bit of instability in these depots.

Consolidation, are they not replacing Insch with a new depot which will be able to service the same area without the extra overheads of all 3 smaller depots, i.e 1x larger modern efficient service base v's the current 3 small depots?.
Significant saving in overheads & centralised staffing - which would seem like common sense in the modern world..

Kubota will be the same, I'm pretty sure all the Brands are aligned with this philosophy of larger central bases covering a greater area with the guys in the vans travelling further.
Obtaining & retaining labour is also an issue for the North East Agri Dealerships with the Energy Industry being on the same doorstep & offering more money.

So is insch relocating ?
There's planning in for a shed next to the A96 on Neil's lands.
It's funny initially I thought oh they're done for but actually I think this side of insch is probably just as close as Turriff from me anyway.

Now now interestingly who's going to buy the Turriff depot?
Detuz I reckon would fit nicely into Turriff...

turriff fermers were never going to buy a Kubota how ever good they are
At least they still attend their local show;)
Not bothered with a stand at Perth the past couple of years. Only one of the local dealers not to be there.
Doubt next Bailey & Bunning will have to come from the relatives that had great stand with fantastic hospitality for all whether customers or not :D

Assuming the Barclay Family are willing to sell it. The Valtra Dealer might have been keen on it. Think they operate from a rented site a present. But that Yard would be Big Bucks to Buy. Or HRN may just want to rent it out, leaving them with options for the Future ??

I don't think there's any plan to sell at the moment or even to rent it out.
It'll just sit empty for now in suspect until I guess the machinery business picks up again?
The valtra dealer would probably prefer something more roomy
I got the feeling they'd like a site with a field so they could do onsite demo's.

Agree, Given the recent investment into that site, Would imagine they would be reluctant to sell it, They might rent it to a Non Ag Machinery business for a depot, but can't really think of a local business that would take it on ?? There is no Case IH depot in Aberdeenshire but the brand probably does not have the following to support a Depot, Some like Kubota, Changed Days compared with when Sellars would have sold many IH tractors Year in/Year out. True Mackays would probably want something with a bit more future scope in the mix.
