Does anyone know the tax implications of importing machinery from the EU. Is there an import tax and if so what rate, is vat payable on delivery to the UK or on purchase and when is it reclaimed?

No tax on import but will have to account for the vat on the return - but it too is exempt.

I’ve brought a few over, have a couple of contracts regarding haulage if you like too.

Thank you, I can get it delivered to Hook F.O.C. I could drive it home from Harwich. Getting service history and warranty position checked now.

From what i recall it wasn’t exactly Money Heist.

Imported a Hardi sprayer from Holland a few years ago, had to give my vat info ect to the selling dutch firm. All went easy as I recall.

Do used ag machines now need cleanliness certificate and be free from soil and vegetable matter etc since we are out of EU ?

Not coming this way I bought some potato grading equipment and it had an inch of dust on it from Holland.
Meanwhile every machine for export from uk has to be immaculate, I know a machine failed last week as there was dust in the air filter!!

That was just about what I would have expected I think it may be a legal requirement but its maybe not being enforced YET!!!
