Innovis moves nucleus flocks to Scotland

It seems Innovis have moved their nucleus flocks to Scotland, presumably having given up their 'windfarm' grazing land. The offices & salebarn is staying at Aber though apparently.

Will this mean they will no longer see so much support from Welsh shepherds? Will they be paying back the Welsh Government funds that were apparently pumped in 'for the good of the Welsh sheep industry'? And will @Agrivator now see the light and embrace the revolution?

Sion Williams, estate manager at Bowhill has been a long term breeder/supporter of Innovis and Buccleuch have a huge amount of good quality sheep land, so probably a good match for both. Possibly chance of scaling up quite easily/ relatively cheaply compared to West Wales

Don’t think there is any chance @Agrivator will see the light🤣

Time will tell. But Buccleuch Estate have been involved with silly breeds and crosses for a number of years with little or no success. There is little possibility that this venture will be any different.

Have you ever been to Bowhill to see what they are achieving there?
There are a fair few who could learn a lot from Sion Williams

You'll just have to visit me and get a few shedders then @Frank-the-Wool

No offence Tim but I am still waiting for when wool gets to £5 a kg!!! Honestly now that we are all going to be forced to wear woolly jumpers and Beanie hats when we can't afford to buy the oil to keep warm, because of huge taxes to pay for C19 the price of wool will be off the clock!

The tups I get from Innovis are Aberdales as we supply a number of people with Aberdale x Romney which makes a fantastic cross when put back to a Beltex.
Does need good management though with 220% plus lambing.

There’s plenty good folk to visit in the borders when you’re up🤣🤣

Jim Logan at Pirntaton breeding Wairere Romneys, not far from Hawick

Good plan! We do come up your way as we had Bulls up from Kent this last weekend and sheep back from Longtown and Hexham. Plenty of Romneys in the Borders these days!! We sold a lot to North of Galashiels so you are right, plenty of friends to come and see!

Funnily enough we sold a pony to your neck of the woods a few weeks back
