We grew a small area of Insitor this year and it appears to have done ok. My only question is there are a lot of small caramel coloured grains in the sample. What causes this? It was grown next to Barrell and it’s all normal.
Yes they are pinched. We wondered if it had run out of steam. The heads were a lot longer than the Barrell next to it.No. The amber ones are all pinched as if they haven't filled properly. When we grew cordiale the grains looked like little nuggets of amber.
Is your bushel weight ok on the saki? Ours is very disappointing compared to every other varietythis year weve found the hard wheats have more pinched grains gleam/gravity although have higher bushel weight ( both soft and hard well over the standard) against the softs skyscraper/saki with the later having the boldest grains , in terms of yield/acre highest skyscraper ,joint second saki and gravity ,lowest gleam by enough to put us off growing a big acerage . The saki could have done better if bits hadnt been underwater in the spring but it survived tillered well and stayed clear of disease so will get an increase in acres
yes its fine, and the straw perfect for little bales of gold !!Is your bushel weight ok on the saki? Ours is very disappointing compared to every other variety
