Ours coped well last year first time for us with oats. We did change the uj in the tank auger for the grass seed option which has some extra paddles on the collar to keep the oats moving.

I have been driving a c670 last 3 seasons and get on very well in wheat and OSR has been fine. But winter barley and spring barley I just can’t stop rotor losses.
Do people find this aswell or any tips I can try to reduce losses?
Have tried most obvious settings. At first I thought I was putting to much through returns and putting too much back into the drum which requires more separation but have tried with fairly wide sieve settings and still getting high rotor losses.

Do people normally use the de awning plates for barley or do you prefer not to use them to allow bigger concave area?

Does anyone running a 9780 or a c670 have problems losing grain off the front of the grain pan which then ends up in the fan housing?
I'm going back about 10 years on this but iirc the one that cut here got the smooth grain pan switched to a fishback style . I can't recall grain making it into fan housing but I think from memory going up a hill was causing a build up on pan which was then overloading sieves for a distance once it levelled off again

Where abouts are you finding the grain? We put new rubber seals on the doors that give you access to the front of the rotors and it stopped any grain falling in to the fan area.

Thanks for the replies, I'm finding grain on the ledge at both sides of the fan. My 9780i has a smooth front section to the pre cleaner, when reversing in corners on the headlands or cutting downhill what's to stop grain falling off the front and into the fan area. The inspection door seals look to be ok.

Mine did but the rubber had gone hard so changed them and it solved the problem

I'll have s better look at them to see if they need renewing. I made an extension for the grain auger to put grain further on the pre cleaner didn't seem to help.

I am struggling to think where you are finding grains for that to stop it!if it is either side next to the fan I will nearly Guarantee its coming from behind those plates. I just got some strips of rubber from a belting company and with a bit of messing around got it to fit and had very little grain there all season.

The seals that run along the sieve frame appear to be sound with a good fit to the door when viewed from the opposite side. It doesn't seem to leak when cutting at a steady speed I've walked along side and there's nothing to see which is why I thought the smooth pan and reversing in the corners was the issue. It's probably not that bad but it's annoying to see good grain not in the tank.

It was the grain pan below the rotors , that was swapped on the one that used to cut here . We thought it was grain building up on it and then all slipping forward in a oner and landing in that area over loading it .

If there is no crop going in you will lose corn that’s the nature of the beast I am afraid

Agreed , I think a small lip on the front of the smooth pan wouldn't go amiss though. Some thing to try maybe? Thanks for your suggestions guys.
