I m looking for a job site DAB radio, not blue tooth specific
I ve had a Makita, well 2 as i have the batteries, Pigs had a good time with one, took the aerial off, and the volume knob, that was still ok, fell out of the tractor 2 or 3 times, then knocked over by flying sheep,
After a couple of years it died, well it could nt pickup stations.
No 2, this time knocked over from height twice, and after 6 mnths it died the same way , so I took it to pieces and found the aerial was a piece of wire not much bigger than a couple of human hairs fixed to the caseing, so even though it still looks like new ( been in house for 3 years, its out of guarentee)
Cant attach wire to aerial wire or circuit board, so I m looking for another thats built stronger internaly. Yes new battery and charger, diffrent make, but which one?????
Loads of Makita on e bay, i wonder why

It was a DMR 110 and the aerial wire is securely fixed and would be ok for almost all occasions, except if it falls out of a tractor on to concrete and damages the case, but was just a fracture i couldnt see untill i opened it up
I still liked it, but the aerial wire is so small, i darnt risk a third
All the other makita stuff, first rate, Chainsaw is the best thing since sliced bread, should have had one years ago

Only problem I've had with a Makita was it wouldn't retune but it was the first model , got the Bluetooth dab model and it's 4years old now .
Got an MR0003G for house/ office looks good and solid, and cheaper than the DMR it replaced, havent stripped it down yet to see how the aerials fixed, but non visible from the outside

All the boys I work with in the building job have makita dab radios.never heard of any of em having issues
nick...
The wireing from the board to the aerial is a plastic casing of the aerial wire, It is then encased in woven wire, bit like armed cable in reverse
But the aerial wire is so so thin

Looks like it was designed for a brick xxxx house, but screwed down
Looking for something portable

I use it in the tractors so as per your monica, if it falls out of a JCB a few times I supose what can i expect
DMR tall slim design has the aerial wired in a corner of the case, so both mine took a hit on the corner and suffered
Just checked the MR and the aerial is middle top, nowhere near corners so maybe its a goer

I just have DMR bluetooth speakers and stream from phone. More compact in a cab.

I have a Makita which would be a fair old lump in a cab.
It is very good quality but too much bass. Nothing wrong with bass but it makes it very difficult to listen to the spoken word should you wish to.

What do you do to break them?
Ear phones also mean you don’t have to take your phone out of a secure pocket with dirty hands to answer calls.
Pigs/ Weaners
Remember going through the covered pens to find the Fieldmans phone
They inveriably end up in the water troughs,

THINK i ploughed on in

Wife says nobody get as dirty, as quickly as me :ROFLMAO:
Down and dirty, get stuck in, thats me
