John Deere 3050 - novice question

Question is has it fixed the spools? Will tractor arms lift a heavy weight?

I'd forgotten to update on that... I never really did find what was going on there... I took the hidden valve apart and cleaned it and put it all back together, and now it all works properly. It didn't really make any sense, but I'm just happy to have it working.

Resurecting this old thread about my 3050, I have a new problem. A small amount of fuel is leaking from the right hand side where the sender goes in.

Is it as simple as just tightening up that green disk? Obviously I have only found this problem after filling the tank right up, so I've not fiddled with it as I didn't want the whole thing to come apart until I've done some work with the tractor and the level has gone back below where it's coming out.

Thanks in advance,
NP.

There's a black O-ring on the back of it.
It's too big to come out of a selection pack, so I'd suggest getting a genuine one ordered up so it's a quick change.

That top tank empties very quickly when you're working, until you've got a situation like this, then it'll take forever!

As @bovrill says its a big o-ring, turn the metal plate about 1/4 turn and the sender will come out gently, swap o-ring and reassemble in reverse, 5 min job. before you pull it just check that it is leaking from the back and not the steel elbow pipe on the front that goes through the plate, ive had to resolder these before.

Just to follow this up, and offer a huge thanks to those that gave me help - @bovrill , @biggles @nick... , and @deere66 - I ordered the part as per the suggestion, checked the elbow wasn't leaking (it wasn't) and once I'd done some work in the tractor to take the fuel level down, I fitted it. I needed the tractor again today and filled it back up and there's no leak. Hooray! Thanks everyone.

Which hidden valve are you talking about I've got a 33 with similar symptoms?

He could be on about the stroke control valve in the bottom of the front pump or the Hyd filter bypass valve, I can’t think of any others atm !.
Someone's mentioned the stroke control valve they do work but seems very slow but the lift seems fine with 4 heavy straw bales on the back it just lifts the front of tractor off the ground but the spools are slow and seem to lack power pushing the back 2 up on the spikes

It's hard to describe as I'm a numpty with the correct names for stuff, but behind the block (or actually in front of it, using the normal front to back description of a vehicle) that has the spool valves on it, is an extra spool connector that goes straight into the main casting of the back half of the tractor. Mine had obviously been fiddled with, and for me it was a case of taking it apart, cleaning it all, and then putting it back together. After that it worked properly, but I never really understood what was going on.

I think it's the priority valve you are referring to. There is a short hose about 200mm at the rear of it connecting it to the spool block base, and the main hydraulic pressure pipe from front pump goes into the front of this valve. If it is sticking it will cause slow hydraulics.

First picture is to the rear of the spools second to the front I'm guessing that the priority valve is in the first with the rubber pipe ?
