John deere brown box yield monitor

I have one of these but seem to have managed to get the settings wrong (by fiddling with the buttons) and now can’t get back
It used to show farm field yield and moisture on the ‚run‘ page ie whilst combining
Now it just shows the speed And nothing else
When i go into setup - runpages they are all saying „this section not available
Is there a quick way to restore it to factory settings please

It’s a very long time since I’ve used the old box, but if I remember right you go to “run page layout” then select “harvest monitor”

I tried that but after making various changes i ended up with everything on the run page layout section saying - this section is not available ??!

Ah, not to sure what’s happened there then, does it have the mobile processor on the back (card reader)? It may need the relevant software re-installing. Probably have to have a word with your ams guy at the dealers.

And to go from harvest monitor to autotrac you need to instal the software from the keycard, I’d guess it’s the same to go back to harvest monitor. Think you’ll need the card and software if it’s not displaying the option any more.

Everything i that manual seemed to relate to the tracking ??

It does tell you about changing from harvest to tracking, I can only presume it will be the same process to change back.

I bought the box second hand about 6 years ago so don’t have the key card or any software
I will enquire with my local dealer about getting a keycard

The card reader bolts to the back of the brown box, it’s an add on. Looking like it’s definitely a dealer job thought, they usually have a reader to plug in and install software/updates.

I've been in contact with the dealer - apparently they no longer 'support' this box!
So now I'm looking for a key card and software or perhaps another similar box from someones old combine?
Unless anyone knows of someone who could re programme my box please?

There’s a mobile processor on eBay that’s cheap but would still need a key card.

Have you considered upgrading to a 2600 or 2630 display? Do you run any other jd kit/guidance?

I have thought about upgrading yes but I'm told by my local dealer that even though my combine is steer ready all the plugs and wiring aren't compatible with the newer boxes???
I have seen a dome and box to go with it that looks like mine on e bay but apparently this is for a tractor so won't have the right software for doing yield and moisture on the combine
I'm amazed the dealers don't just hang on to the key cards and processors - it seems pretty crap that they just write them all off at 10y old
The only other JD item i have is a sprayer - again over 10y old
I've been told the JD 'don't support' the control box on it either - thankfully its still working.

I think the whole - no support after 10 y thing reflects very badly on JD

I will post pictures of my plugs and wiring and steering valve later today!

As far as I’m aware all you should need to upgrade to a newer screen is the adapter harness.

Could always ask if they have a demo screen to try, you’ll never go back to the brown box if you did.
I’ll pm you the number of the AMS guy at my dealer if you like, he knows his stuff and usually has some second hand kit knocking about.

I know this is old thread but how did you get it going please? I have same issue with mine. No card or processor. Just want live yield and moisture - no autosteer/mapping. Thanks
