I'm really pee'd at JD for doing this, I've got a yard full of green a yellow paint due to the excellent service and backup and hard work of Sharmans.
Makes you wonder about the dealer too the north of you!Heard from a manufacturer rep today ,that sharmans have been given notice on their jd franchise ,
Dont know any more
I have been told Sharman’s was told to dump jcb and they said no after last time they dumped it only for jd to stop making handlers. The family already have Scotland sowed up with jd but I suppose when ripon bought out Rbm it was inevitable that they would look at streamlining the rest of the dealers
To the west , the north you’d be in the wash , Doubledsys superb outfit , Rbm ?Makes you wonder about the dealer too the north of you!
Same family different companies mainly north of the forth bridge. Corthwaites, Sheriffs etc in Scotland too.I have been told Sharman’s was told to dump jcb and they said no after last time they dumped it only for jd to stop making handlers. The family already have Scotland sowed up with jd but I suppose when ripon bought out Rbm it was inevitable that they would look at streamlining the rest of the dealers
I think Sharmans, (Barclays) are wealthy and shrewd enough to counteract any chance of a take over....Sure one of the top 4 will snap them up
Would make sense, I’m sure JCB wouldnt mind have a sole franchise outlet from a dealer. Not heard that yet but was expecting it
Be interesting decision for one close to me
Unless a transfer to a sister company? For JCB.
Wonder what my dealer will do then as sells massive amounts of Deere and jcbs
Well there is only one across the whole of northumberland & into the borders now & not so long ago there was 3John Deere want 12 main dealer groups (if I remember right) to cover uk and Ireland within the next 5 years apparently.
So I’ve been told from someone on the inside, not sure how many are left now anyway?
Weve not had a single piece of Deere Equ on this farm in my life nor my previous 4 generations before me spanning over 130yearsThe only John Deere we have here is a lawn mower....and we have 5 tractor,2handlers and a UTV.....and a JD dealer 5 miles from us.
Ultimately their engineering is nothing outstanding with engineered in issues,
