Hello All,
Having trouble with my kuhn lc402 bunching the seed up, have adjusted the air flow and fan speed numerous times but doesn’t seem to make a difference. I have a small seed box for the poppy seed mounted on the front as they are only planted at 700 grams per ha the metering wheel is super fine and the seed drops evenly out of this down a small non static tube into the main air pipe and which actually causes a vacuum and mixes the seed with small fertiliser granules as it goes back up and hits the distribution head.
But I also plant a lot of other seeds with this machine using it the correct way without the small seeds box and I get the same seed bunching.
I have made sure my hoses are routed properly but even the short hoses with a nice easy fall seem to give the same problem, I run the gearbox on the faster speed if I can with the smaller vanes to make the seed drop more even but this also doesn’t help.
Has anyone else noticed this and have any ideas or have fixed the problem?
I will attach a pic it’s a odd looking setup, the reason I went this way is I wanted the 110mm centres and then my last two Kuhn power harrows had failed so I opted for the Amazone and Kuhn roller works better in our conditions with plastic scrapers and is larger diameter.
It says lc302 but it’s a lc402 as the 3 metre was all I could get and I changed it to 4. There was also a flow valve/cone in the main pipe and that has been changed apart from that and the distribution head and extra Coulter’s it’s the same machine,
that’s what Kuhn said, or is there something different there that I have missed?
Thanks Adam
