Kuhn GF 7902 or 7802 tedder 8 rotors or 6 ??

We were thinking about getting a tedder to match our new rake . Been looking at the Kuhn GF7902 and GF7802 ,both same width but ones a 6 rotor and ones an 8 ?
What has anyone got advice or wisdom :giggle: please ,as to if its better or worth having the 8 rotor over the six ,or not !!??
Thanks :)

I think it's more important to have smaller rotors in hay than it is in haylage/silage.

Why you just looking at Kuhn ? Have you looked at other brands ?

A figure of speech - not to match it , we have never tedded before ,but its the width that will suit the rake too 3 swaths at 2.8 meters but will do 3 meters if we go to a wider mower
Always spread out with the mower , it tends far better , narrow swards are harder to tease out. Smaller diameter rotors do better work than bigger rotors . But there is no connection between Tedder size and rake .

I’d avoid the 7802 tine arms are long and with time shear at the bolt hole which is a poor design IMO, rotors are held on with a circlip which wears and drops drive better makes on the market.

No help on the kuhn machine but we went from large rotors to small rotors and in our case smaller is better, even more pronouned if you need to go through a second time.

We have a 6 rotor kuhn with seven arms per rotor, the same width 8 rotor has 6 arms.
A lot more moving parts on a 8 obviously, and more to go wrong maybe.
We make a lot of haylage with ours and it seems ok up to now. Had a broken roll pin that mashed a gear but for a cheap second hand machine it's been ok.
Some people want to ted the life out of grass when the weather is your best friend, but not a reliable one at times.
