What discs are you on? V3?
Yes v 3 disc’s , have considered changing to v 2, the app settings would them mean switch off right on the tramline. Would also like to upgrade to gps switch off , not sure if that would help on the straight ends but would improve in the short runs, or buy a KV geo spread!

How long ago did they chance will an old stock machine from the summer have the new motors
It’s easy to see, just look from the side of the machine, in the area above the discs, you’ll either see an actuator or the black housing of the motors

We have an Amazone and as others have said it seems to throw way behind, which is a pain at the headland trying not to miss a bit when you switch off. You really need to switch off when the discs are on the headland tramline and by then it's too late to turn. Also if you get single acting hydraulics it's a strong spring that opens and the hydraulics close it, which if your hydraulics are less than perfect means spillage of fert as the machine creeps open under spring force. Our new Amazone has double acting hydraulics and never leaks. I would have bought a different make due to the rearward spread but I was out voted.

I wouldn't say the Kuhns much better when it comes to throwing back. I had a few fields where I was coming in. There was under application on spring barley fields

When doing winter crops I alternate which side I spread off, so same doesn't happen.

Had a ZAM, did alright but became very rusty and vanes seemed to wear. Went Kuhn weigh cell with drop point all connected to gps. Had 1 actuator failure but replaced foc, get on very well indeed with it, overlaps on pickets seem non existent. 4 bags of Urea fit nicely too which is a bonus

Could I be cheeky and ask what sort of money you paid for it? I have a bog basic Kuhn which has done me well for the last 8 years but I would like to upgrade this season.

Lol! For the life of me I cant remember I'm afraid, will have a look when next in the office but it wasnt as much as I thought, hence why I bought it. Mine is PTO as opposed to Hydro so quite a saving there.
I have a Kuhn plough as well, decent quality kit they produce and at sensible money. Know of three others that swapped to Kuhn ploughs in the area.

Update was a close call but I fancied a change and the poll on here is 62% Kuhn so I’ve done a deal on a Kuhn 40.2 pto drive weigh cell machine. Amazone has done me no harm and have had 2 machines in the last 20 years well since the day f+m broke out in 2001 to be precise and both have been generally good. I bought the Kuhn for several reasons which are as follows. New type actuator hopefully more reliable, Hoping it doesn’t throw back quite so far, dealer had one in stock so I can guarantee it’s pdi,d and sorted on my tractor before lambing and for same reason it was a few hundred £ cheaper
