Kuhn straw blowers ?

Maybe different on the newer ones, but you have to remove the control box every time you unhitch, instead of just unplugging it. Which is a pain.
Probably not such an issue if you have a dedicated tractor.

Mechanically been very good though. Don't think they're much different to the McHale. Can blow about 60ft, as long as the wind isn't against it.

Yes, the rotor starts with the pto and you can bring it up to speed before engaging the drum and the floor.

Don't often manage to block it. If I do it's usually a cock-up on my part. Either on start up or being greedy and lifting the comb too high.

Control box is simple to use, and quite robust (It's fell of the back of the tractor a few times  )

I should say, mines 9 years old now. They could have changed.

Thoughts on Kuhn straw blowers trailed only for straw really ? Currently have mchale .
I have a 2023 trailed Kuhn. It was a toss up between the Kuhn & McHale. They are very very similar in terms of merit. The finance was marginally better on the Kuhn at the time (3+33 @ 0%) so thats what I bought.

12 months on - zero issues. Only thing i'd say is the tail gate post (that the chain goes around) mounts are pretty flimsy and the grey deflector above the rotor wants tying up well out of the way, its just abit pointless.

What sort of price are they now? Have a 2007 kuhn, showing its age a bit now. Keep thinking I should maybe look at changing it.
