LAMMA 21

What's thoughts on a the show being rescheduled for end of May with Cereals only 2 weeks after and the the possibility of the Royal Highland one week after that.

my personal thoughts from being small exhibitor leave it for the year, but apparently organisers are being told people are pushing for a show.

So a LAMMA show in May then the same again in 8 months ........

If it goes ahead, I heard earlier today that one of the May shows, can’t remember which, possibly Suffolk has been cancelled for 2021 due to covid.
Covid certainly won’t be history by then so I think I’d rather attend an outdoor show than an indoors one, if as I say any of them go ahead

We are along way from May 2021, a lot will change between now and then, if restrictions are lifted by then there will be no doubt more chance of running outside events than indoor exhibitions, Manufacturers and exhibitors will support the events that they feel the best fit for their business, they won't do them all that close together, a lot of ifs, buts and maybe's in the next 12 months.

Unless rules of 6 inside or 30 outside change possibly too?

Not funny I know but thinks look ,and are worst now than April?
I hope not.

We are in a better place than April. The NHS are now experienced in treating it. Testing facilities better now. Got test, track and trace.

You could be right though. Be tragic if you are.

The measures the government are taking to clamp it down are completely pointless in my opinion. I mean as long as people are going into work, school etc. Its bound to spread. My wife has 22 kids in her primary 1 class she teaches. Yet she can't go and visit another family after work. Or meet another family in a restaurant for a meal!

whose going to pay thousands to have a stand at a show that limits entry ? None of these companies go for fun
Indeed we don’t go for fun! The new dates will suit some more than others. It’s a tough call for all organising such national and down to local events. Each exhibitor has to weigh up what return they really get for attending events. The good old days of 30/40 years ago are but a distant and pleasant memory but today’s market and communications have changed all of that. It’s called progress! If you look at all the events that are held in the UK where farm input products are shown, there are still far too many. Things will change

If it goes ahead on those dates in any form, unless the weather plays them a deal on the day it’ll be a coffin nail for the job, if it doesn’t go ahead or is too much hassle for exhibitors or visitors, it’ll also be a coffin nail.

Poor choice of date , between everyone getting on with their work and with the current Covid restrictions on numbers on indoor events , I don’t think it would be a great success, perhaps it’s the one and only time we wish it was back in Peterborough on an outside cold wet event.

 Not that keen for it! If it’s May, definitely not going. I honestly can’t many shows going ahead next year. To much uncertainty. As far as exhibitors are concerned I would have thought there is to much expense involved to risk it .
