Lidl and aldi have changed British again for ever they make sweet fa as a sacifice for market share and have destroyed margins In all sectors no value any longer in products
My neighbour always says to aim to sell your produce at the top of the market price or higher to lift the ceiling price , rather than drag the bottom price lower.

Do you think the big pig companies will be slashing the rates to their contract rearing farms?

If the pig price crashes &/or feed grain is dear in harvest 20 (planting down due to 2019 wet autumn, what choice do they have?

Although pig prices may continue to stay as they are and that would be status quo

Highly doubtful as UK pig job is heavily reliant on contract finishers. They don't pay we go somewhere else and there stuck with a load of weaners to finish. Biggest thing for pig job at the moment is how long it takes China to get over coronavirus, how high feed price gets this year and whether ASF makesit to UK. If ASF breaks out here pig job is done similar to F and M. I worry for anyone putting up a slatted pig shed over 10 year rights now. No use for out else and all it takes is ASF or some girl saying she doesn't want pork unless it's freedom food like the egg job and there left with an expensive noose. At least the blokes on BQP style sheds have a gp building for something else but personally I think they've been sold a gimmick which again could cost alot if the pigs go but the bank still needs paying.

In the last hour I have heard that large scale egg producers in the area and there are a lot are loosing money hand over fist and there is an empty unit not far away which the owner is trying to rent out.
After Christmas in Lidl a box of 18 eggs could be bought for 79p.

Its not just eggs. Chicken meat is bad news as well.

Don't believe all the gossip you hear would probably be a better idea
